Seemantham or
Pongala is performed when a woman completes pregnancy for six months.
On an auspicious day, after applying home-made ayurvedic oil with
massage, a customary bath is done with the help of the elderly women
in the family and then the family deity is worshipped, by invoking all
the paradevatas.. The girl will be dressed up in new clothes and
ornaments (used for such occasions). The family then has a feast for
all the relatives.
