Lord Mallikarjunaswamy(Sivan) temple at parvathamalai is believed to be 2000 years old.
It is believed that devas and siddhas are worshipping Lord Mallikarjunaswamy every night here and so is a very auspicious hill.
Parvathamalai is belived to have powerful vibrations from the religious point of view.
Many Siddhas living and practicing their skills around parvathamalai.
This hill is full of herbal(mooligai) plants.
When Lord Eshwaran came from Himalayas to southern part of Tamilnadu, he kept his first foot step in this Parvathamalai.
It is believed that Parvathamalai is formed when a piece of rock fell from Sanjeevi hill when Lord Anjaneya was carrying it and this has seven folds.
Its called as Sanjeeva Parvathamalai.
The breeze with herbal scent coming from this hill heels all the incurable diseases.
This is 3000ft high vertical mountain which has iron rod steps(Gadapaparaipadi), track steps(Thandavazhapadi), ladder steps(Yenipadi) and sky steps(Aagayapadi) which is very rare from any other mountains in the world and one of the wonders.
Many siddhars are living and practicing their skills around Parvathamalai and they have given darshan to many visitors.
This place is very auspicious and has powerful vibrations from the religious point of view.
You can have the Jyoti Dharishanam at night. You can smell fragrance of flowers all around the temple.
The goddess idol has a very dazzling beauty which can be never seen anywhere. A divine light can be seen on cheeks of the goddess
